“Practice makes perfect,” they say. With our state-of-the-art VR Carpentry Simulator, mastering the art of carpentry becomes not only efficient but also cost-effective and safe. Aligned with the guidelines set by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, our simulator offers a hyper-realistic experience that allows you to engage in a range of tasks.

Dive into the world of carpentry as you learn to wield hand and power tools with precision. From the intricacies of framing to the art of creating a shaker door using a variety of hand tools, you’ll be guided through every step. As you progress, you’ll also gain insights into selecting the right materials for framing, mastering the use of circular saws, mitre saws, and table saws for cutting wood materials, and adeptly putting up support beams to anchor your frames securely in place. Our simulator provides a safe and effective environment to hone your carpentry skills.

Users are provided with an assessment report based on the accuracy and task completed within the experience and if successful, obtain a micro-credential in the completed area. 

The Experience

Module 1: Hand Tools

  • Select, use and maintain different carpentry hand tools involved in the process of creating a shaker door. Use tools to make basic measurements, then shape and mill the wood. Establish safe and proper use of your hand tools according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.  

Module 2: Power Tools 

  • Select, use and maintain different portable and stationary power tools involved in the process of cutting wood materials. Use various power tools including a circular saw, mitre saw and table saw. Establish safe and proper use of these tools according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. 

Module 3: Framing

  • Assist in the framing process by placing materials into position and securing them using various carpentry tools. Select and use materials, fasteners and connectors commonly used in framing. Select, use and maintain different tools involved in this process and establish safe and proper use of these tools according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
